Reviews are highly beneficial if a person wants to make use of them for Search Engine Optimization (i.e. SEO). What people say matters because they are what creates traffic in the virtual web.

You can ask people to make this action in a subtle sense like asking an opinionated question or for a point of view on an inconclusive discussion.

You can use reviews as an information source of what is in demand or what people want to know more about. This is how reviews help in optimization. Giving precise and rich information with the right mark- up can cause your content to be part of snippets that stand higher than ranking on the SERPs.

Thus, it would be highly wise to be encouraged to take feedback seriously into account while doing optimization causing further better ratings to be generated. And hence, the loop of betterment will continue to create valuable content through SEO.
